Reminders of Your Wild, Free Heart: Preparing to Fire My Bronze Animal Jewelry

I’m getting ready to fire my sculpted bronze animal portraits! It has taken so long to find a place to safely set up and operate my kiln as I can’t risk offgassing inside the house which can jeopardize my daughter's health.

My husband and son have helped me create a space in the garage to set up both my jewelry kiln and my microwave (I have a little microwave kiln to experiment with firing little ceramic sculptures! ) I’m pretty excited!

I have so many ideas flying around in my head for creating both in metals and ceramics as well has hopefully combining these elements. But first I need to get my prototypes fired.

Stay tuned to how this little collection progresses!

Here's a little verse to celebrate the joy of creating and collecting heartfelt art:

***

Freedom to fly.

Born to pursue it.

Discovering and rediscovering it through the creative process.

Peace and exhilaration existing together in the moments that fly past as my imagination flies in the studio ❤

Pieces in process and pieces completed.

Awaiting the fire, awaiting the finishing touch then released into the wild.

Will they remind you of your free heart? Will they inspire you to pursue the wild and celebrate love?

You are made for this.

I sculpt my original work by hand from personal or collector supplied reference photos when creating original and commissioned portrait pendants.

I use a version of the ancient lost wax process that suits the modern materials with which I work.

Realism meets dynamic textures and patina, referencing historical and ancient treasures to create a deeply personal style that tells stories of love and wonder.

Cheers!
