Dog Tales…A New Sculpture

A little dog portrait sculpted in white stoneware clay.

I love the process. In fact I’m a bit obsessed and time completely disappears while I’m working. Its the best feeling but there’s a physical cost as I end up sitting at my work table too long without a break LOL

I love my saddle chair and couldn’t work for any length of time without it, but even with this essential equipment my bones are complaining a bit today.

Now, as I continue my sculpting journey I’m learning that working with the ceramic clay is pretty dusty and dirty. Perhaps not the best media for working in my dining room-turned sculpting studio. In fact it also makes me sneeze. A lot. Which leads to a headache. Which slows me down! Grrr!

So I think for my next sculpt I will switch back to air dry clay. Stay tuned!
